Are you looking to save some big dough on your winter bills this coming cold season? Heating, electric and other appliances can really add up through this time when the weather is cold and we are trying to keep our houses warm. Well, here are some tips and tricks to save you enough money this season to still be able to afford Christmas presents for your friends and family!

  1. Make sure that your windows are sealed nice and tight. All that air that can seep out through the cracks around your window panes can easily suck out the heat you are generating inside your abode and send it directly outside, whilst at the same time letting frigid outside air welcome in your home. Seal out the cold and keep the heat in with either heavy curtains, a well designed plastic wrap, or window caulk! Any of these measures will ensure that you pay only for the heat you generate and not for heat that escapes through poorly sealed windows.
  2. If you can, invest in electric heating for your home. Electric space heaters are much more efficient and cheap than attempting to heat your whole house as one giant space. It is much easier to block off your house room by room and heat it with electricity, that way you save money on cheap fossil fuels such as gas and you can focus the heat on one space at a time.
  3. If possible, buy winter products in the off season. This is when all the good stuff goes on sale! Keep on the lookout for electric heaters, electric blankets, heavy clothes, boots, even fun products like skis, snow tubes and holiday lights just to make sure you are saving money on every possible item you might need during the winter season. Another great way to save big time this season is to shop for amazing winter boots and other fabulous shoes at aldos, don’t miss the deals!

There are many ways to prepare for winter, and I hope you’ve learned a lot from these helpful tips this season! Don’t waste your money: prepare for winter by preparing your home for the cold and shopping well in the off season!
